Where's the Song?

Does a bird really need special seed in order to sing prettier, louder? There are alot of birds who live around here or they are just hangin' around 'til it's time to move on. They sure do sound happy! Maybe it IS because of the seed we put in the feeders! Or maybe they are simply, happy, normal birds; satisfied with the life they live, knowing that they will eat, drink, fly and do whatever birds do. Whatever happens, happens. God loves the birds. He created them. He loves me/us even more and takes care of our needs as He wants. I love my Lord and want to trust Him and His will! But I am again going through a difficult time of accepting things the way they are. Money is really tight. Hubby hasn't worked in three weeks because his work opportunity buddy won't need him 'til this next week. We helped send our teens to their "mission trip to Skid Row" and a Youth conference in L.A. Soon, school registration will hit us with a $200.00 cost. I wonder if they offer scholarship money to sign your kids up for school?!? ( : We really need a new roof and gutters. A bit of flooring. That's just the vital stuff. People from church keep calling my husband wanting him to help them with projects, which most of the time he does. We feel like now, WE need help and nobody is here to help. We have also been recently taken advantage of by people who are both earning good money. They kind of conned us into having to literally go the extra mile, which means things got tighter for us. So, life is not fair. Life is tough. Life makes me cry. Life makes me want to sleep it away. Where is my seed? Where is my song? The name of the Lord, my King Jesus is where I receive the will to keep going, singing, hoping, praying, and even stretching my neck to look on the bright side. HE is my song.

A Woman that Fears the Lord said...

I love the way you ended your post! Amen!

Do you remember Hinds Feet on High Places? I started listening to the audio version a few months ago. I've listened to it twice. After reading what you wrote I think you would be blessed by it. (www.christianaudio.com)The one by Flo Schmidt is what I'm listening to.

"Much Afraid" is the main character who lives with her cousins (fear, pride, bitterness, self-pity). She wants to go to the High Places but her feet are crippled and her mouth is crooked. She can't imagine being able to walk on the High Places in her condition. The Shepherd has sent two companions, Suffering and Sorrow. She does not want to take their hands at the beginning of the journey.. but ends up learning many lessons from them along the way. She also learns 'acceptance with joy'. There is so, so much in this story that is relating to my current situation (which sounds similar to yours in certain ways). Anyway, I think you might find comfort in it.
Hugs!
